Hi Rosie, was there any technology / software or piece of material you had to learn in a limited period of time?

Rich D. asked a question to Rosie M.

Furthermore, I would like to know how long it took you to become confident in this new skill that you learned and how you found the overall process.

Hi Rich - for all the technical skills you need for your role, you will receive training and support when you join. Depending on the software, this could take a few hours or a couple of weeks to learn, but there are loads of great resources and training materials to support you. For example, when I fist joined I had no coding experience, and within a couple of weeks I was using a low-code software tool to build workflows on a live project.

I found the quickest way to become confident was applying my knowledge to a real scenario, and seeing how my contribution supported the wider team. Now that I have finished the apprenticeship, I am still having to pick up new skills and technical capabilities to support my role and although this can seem daunting, I find asking questions the key to feeling more confident in my work. EY has a great support network in place (e.g. buddy, counsellor, manager), so you can always reach out if you have questions or need support.
