Would you recommend living in London instead of commuting?

I am about 45 minutes out from central London by train. I was wondering, do you think it would be worth the extra expense of living in London? I can see benefits such as reduced travel time and easier engagement with the social side of things. I'd appreciate a personal take :)

    Interesting, thanks. Gee whizz that is a 1hr40 or so commute! If that is preferable to living in London then a measly 45mins should be no problem I guess
