You will be required to be in the office some days so it is up to you if you want to get accommodation in london or travel down the days you are due to be in.

From my experience, the days you would be required in the office depend on the project you're on and who you're working with. Some projects I've done are just "work where suits you", whereas some people like to get the team into the office together.
