Please contact studentexperience@uk.ey.com - they'll be able to help!

Hi Matthew - all of the textbooks that you need will be provided to you by your college provider. You will not be required to buy them yourself

Thank you, I will contact them to see if I can get the textbooks to study with ahead of time

Do we know who our college provider will be?

Unfortunately your college provider isn't confirmed until you start, but there isn't a need to start studying ahead of time. You will have plenty of time to study, so my advice would be to make sure you're all ready to go once your college begins

I see, thank you - I have been sent an email that reads ". As you may be aware, we have embedded a government accredited master’s degree equivalent (Level 7) Accounting & Taxation Apprenticeship into our Graduate Programme and this accreditation will be in addition to the professional qualification you are due to complete. " - hence I am quite worried that I will have to do a lot of studying in a short period of time

There is no study involved with the Level 7 apprenticeship :) This is just a series of trainings and logging your work experience - no exams!

The only exams will be for the CA-CTA qualification

It is also worth noting you are given lots of time off work for study and training

I see, thank you, that is reassuring

I noticed in the CA-CTA prospectus, the "Professional Responsibilities and Ethics" module is compulsory - is it worth studying that ahead of time?

As it seems no matter the specialisation, I would need to take those exams

I would say you don't need to prepare in advance for that module. Your college provider will teach you in a lot of detail what you need to know and EY will give you more time off to study for it

You will find that once you start you will find a good routine that works for you, that means the exams aren't too stressful :)

Thanks - will it be possible to get extra time for exams because of an RSI in my hand?
Also, if we fail the exams, will we be able to resit them or will we be fired immediately?

You can apply for reasonable adjustments to your exams when you start college, and I think with failing exams it is determined on a case-by-case basis.

You will not be fired for failing an exam once - I know people who have failed a couple of times and are still here! EY understands the exams are hard so you do have a few attempts. You can also apply for extra time with ICAS / ICAEW etc

Thank you, that is good to know
