When does EY usually apply for the Visas. My exams end on 20th June. So I was planning on going back home for some time

It will start 3 months prior to your start date - I would recommend that you refrain from leaving the UK during this time

but the rule of thumb is once you submit your visa application, you cannot leave the UK until you get the decision
