When do the ICAS exams take place for tax graduates?

What can we expect in terms of the timeline as to when exams take place. And how does the general week look like for someone working as a tax graduate, including WFH options?

What do the first few weeks as a tax graduate look like too?

Hi Khadijah - thank you very much for your question!

As a graduate in EY's tax team, you will have block leave for your exams. After your induction days, you will be out on leave during the first month or so, studying towards your first exams. You will then be out for block study periods during the course of your training contract. You won't be working and studying at the same time.

In terms of a general week, your work tasks will really vary based on the client you are working on and the sub-service line you are in. If you know which one you will be in, please do let me know and I can give you a greater insight into what your role will entail.

Currently we are advised to go into the office twice a week, but a lot of people do go in more if they wish to do so!

I hope this helps, but please do let me know if you have any further queries.

I am unsure as to what sub-service line I am in. Is there any way of finding this out?

I think it should be in your offer letter either FSO or UK&I

    Oh, it’s UK&I

I thought you might have been referring to the team I would be working with specifically

Hi Khadijah - if you are in UK&I you will be in our London Bridge Office. However, your sub-service line will be your specific team. You will find this out during your induction from your buddy,

Thanks for your reply. I just have one more question regarding graduate salaries. Do these increase throughout the 3 years or do it stay consistently the same for this duration?

    It increases each year :)
