I will be starting as an Assurance Associate in the Birmingham office in September
Hi Emily, congrats first of all! Will you be joining as a grad?
Yes sorry it is the 3 year grad scheme
Great, so when you join the firm in September you will go straight to college for about 6/7 weeks and have the first set of exams in November
Great, thank you
Hi Peter - is this throughout the whole of the assurance team regardless of location? I was wondering the same thing but am due to start in Leeds in September
Also in those first 6/7 weeks (assuming it's the same timeframe for ATT Qualification as Assurance) How many days do we typically spend in the office?
Hi Amar, this is for all grads irrespective of service line
In those first few weeks you spent the whole week at college, you typically have your first day in the office in the middle of November after your first round of exams
Hi Peter, for grads based in London, how do we know which qualification we will take, ICAS or ICAEW?
Hi Peter, would we be attending the college with other members of EY in our office? Or would it be with random peers?
Is the college in the office or it's in another place? I am in the London programme btw.
As a grad, you would be completing the ICAS qualification - the ICAEW is for business apprentices. Typically, you go to college with other new joiners from across the different service lines so it wouldn't necessarily be people who would be in your office
College is held by BPP who have their own locations
Thanks!
