Hey great question :) - The most difficult part I think comes at the start of the apprenticeship, when you have just come out of school and you are thrown into such a big firm. Often times you may feel out of place because you are the youngest in the team, and you don't know as much as everyone. You have to reassure yourself that you deserve to be there just as much as everyone else does and give yourself grace to make mistakes!

Hi Benjamin. I would say the most difficult part of the apprenticeship is balancing both work and studying, as it can be a surprise coming straight from college or sixth form. This is definitely a challenge but with the support from the firm, the tuition provider and your peers, this is absolutely achievable!

What would be your advice to overcome these difficulties and/or what support is given in EY for these problems?

In respect of studying, you are given study leave to attend college for the exams where you will be provided with plenty of resources and support from your tutor. You would also be allocated a 'counsellor' and 'apprenticeship coach' who are there to support your learning and on-the-job performance. I personally found that joining with a cohort of peers who are going through the same process and exams was very helpful, as we could share problems and solve issues together. The main thing is to be clear with your time and plan in advance to give yourself the best chance with the exams!
