What would you say are the best ways we can prepare before the start of the assurance internship?

For example are there any specific technical skills or software that we should familiarise ourselves with? Thank you.

    Hi Will. I wouldn't worry too much about needing to upskill on specific background knowledge. What I would suggest is getting to grips with excel as this is where you'll spend a lot of time whilst working on client work. You don't need to be an expert, but it does give you a great running start. VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUM, generally just navigating excel - these will give you a good start.

    Maybe look up a few companies and read their financial statements - but don't go too deep on this as there's a lot of content there. Think of some of the bigger companies and just have a scan.
