Hello, what was the most difficult aspect of the application process which successful applicants faced?

I am an International Business Management student from Edinburgh Napier University and I am wanting to apply for The Business consulting graduate programme.

Hi Ciaran, everyone has different skills and qualities so it depends on you, of course. Some of my friends found the phone interview challenging, others the AC. Personally, I found the Partner interview challenging, however, having come out successfully on the other side, I can say confidence and self-assurance is important. It's okay to be nervous of course, but try to prepare as well as you can

Thank you very much for answering, I realize that it does depend on the individual. In terms of the partner interview do they attempt to try and keep you calm or do they want to see how you best deal with the pressure of the situation?

Unfortunately, that completely depends on which Partner is interviewing you. My Partner was quite relaxed, but again, some friends had much tougher questions.

Alright thank you Shaqeal for giving me an insight.

What would you say are some of the best aspects of working at EY?

  • Anonymous

I would say the wide range of skills I will have picked up by the end of my rotation program is the best aspect. No other firms offer this. Other than that, it is a really great work environment, where people are very willing to teach you, all you have to do is ask

That's good to hear as I am not 100% certain on the graduate scheme which I am looking into so it is nice to hear that there is a rotation program.

With people willing to help you learn, I presume the culture within EY is friendly?

Absolutely. The people at the firm are very friendly, people are often willing to help you, all you have to do is ask

Is there opportunities to work in different locations once the graduate scheme is completed? I am currently in Edinburgh however in the future I would like the opportunity to work in different countries.

Definitely, EY has offices all around the world. I read about secondment opportunities very often, but this usually occurs after the grad scheme has completed. Depending on the team you join you may also have the opportunity to work internationally, for short periods of time

That makes sense that it would be once the graduate scheme is completed.

Is possible to access all of the conversations after this session is closed so I can come back and review all of the other discussions at a later time?

Thank you once again Shaqeal for answering my questions.

No problem Ciaran. Yes, you can access the transcripts by emailing Emily Young . Thanks for your questions, and good luck with your application!
