Hi Meg, I'd say for background knowledge, try to keep up to date with the news and what is going on within the market. That will definitely help make the information you see a little more digestable. In assurance we use excel every day! You'll often be working with the microsoft office suite of applications so I'd try to have a working understanding of how to use each of them. We primarily communicate via outlook and ms teams on a daily basis. EY also has their own specialist software which you will learn how to use in due course :)
