What do I need to learn before entering the firm, especially in the technology sector?
Hi Hermione! We use Excel for our workbooks in Assurance. When you join you will be given some basic training on some tips on how to use Excel, and you can learn the majority on the job
Thank you! And what was the most difficult part for you when you first became an assurance associate?
No worries! I would probably say learning the terminology, but everyone is very welcoming and open to answering any queries you have. And there are a lot of EY resources to help you with any gaps in your knowledge
Final question! Do you have any tips on the final interview?
Hi Hermione, from a recruitment perspective I would really advise you to again look at what strengths you feel you have shown throughout the recruitment process but also identify what you feel your areas of development are
Have a think about what you have enjoyed about the process and reason why you feel EY is going to be the right place for you. What can you bring to the table?
Once you have been told who it is you are meeting with, have a look at that person on LinkedIn as it shows you have done your research and gives you a talking point too
Make sure you feel like you have done enough research on the website in the service line you are looking to join so you can confidently talk about why you are keen to start a career in this area
Lastly just be yourself! Don't be afraid to show your personality and also to have a couple of questions for your interviewer too
Wow thank you! That is really helpful!!
No problem at all, best of luck!
