Hi Yu, thanks so much for your question. I should begin by mentioning that there are no 'specified' qualities that are required! But qualities that are always valued include effective team working and communication skills as its important to be able to talk and ask questions to your colleagues! It's also great to show a passion and be inquisitive :) I hope this helps!
Also, I want to ask what kind of feedback participants receive during the Insight program and how we can use it to improve and grow as candidates
No worries! After the Insight program you would be invited to an assessment centre and from here, you would receive feedback! This feedback is useful to identify strengths and weaknesses :)
Thank you so much, Lucy! And I'm also wondering how candidates will be tasked in the assessment center, and how can I prepare in order to get the fast-track opportunity?
Hi Yu, the assessment centre is all about showing who you are and why you're interested in the service line you've applied to and EY in general. If you are applying for a fast-track to a summer internship, you will be assessed on written activity and group activity. If you're applying for a fast-track to a graduate or industrial placement, you will do an additional interview as well.
Thank you so much, Kevin. Do you have any advice for preparing for the fast track to a summer internship?
This is a great resource to use as it provides hints and tips, plus practice tests: https://ey.preparationplus.com/
I would say being on the Discover EY programme is good preparation too. You will learn a lot about EY over those two days, so it should help you understand your motivations
Another question is I apply for the tax line, is there anything I should prepare before the insight program? And also, after the insight program, what can I do as well to build my career on the tax line?
You can learn more on our EY website, but no pre-reading required - our Discover EY programme is designed to help you understand more about the service lines. Ask lots of questions at the Discover EY programme and network with the EY employees.
Tax is a career path where there will be new projects and problems to solve on a day-to-day basis. Therefore I would say the key skills and attributed that would help you build a career in tax would be to be a proactive person, being committed to life-long learning and being able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. You will learn loads of technical skills applicable to your work during your time in EY and from qualifications
ok, I see. I really appreciate your answer, thank you!
