Hi Joshua, Excellent question! I have been studying for ICAS exams for the past 2 years alongside client work. I would say the main things are: (1) Ensuring you spread out your studying over the study period (rather than cramming at the last minute), (2) utilising the numerous practice questions & practice papers we are given, and (3) having open communication with your team regarding your exam commitments as your ICAS exams always take precedence over client work.
Hi Mohammad, Thanks for the reply. That’s great advice, which I will try to put into practice if I'm successful. Do ICAS exams tend to fall outside of busy season, or do trainees sometimes have to manage both at once?
So I have never had any ICAS exams during busy season (although it sometimes happens with re-sits). All departments are told to prioritise ICAS exams over client work, so if you had any issues you can usually speak with your department's resourcing team to help resolve
Ok, perfect, thanks so much for your insight Mohammad!
