Can you also tell me about the most creative or innovation project you've worked on? Thank you!
Hi Charvi, I have just joined EY 2 months ago and am working in ITRA Data Analytics, Consulting. I have worked on automating time consuming and repetitive tasks and is about to start on a version control project that I'm really looking forward to!
Hi Claudia, thanks for sharing that!
Are you given any training prior to joining a project especially if you are unfamiliar with the "tech" being used for that project or do you mostly learn on the job? Also, how do you keep up to date with the latest technology and analytical tools?
Hi Chavri, I also work in ITRA and did not come from a tech background at all. I think it is more about having the right mindset but all training is provided
I have been completely supported through it in the first 3 months and dont feel disadvantaged about my background at all so dont feel put off by the tech aspect, its a great team!
Hi Kayleigh, that's great to hear! May I ask what was your motivation for joining ITRA and what were some of the challenges you faced when joining?
I chose ITRA as I liked the balance between the consulting aspect so actually liaising with the client and then the more technical aspect testing that applications are doing what they say they are doing if that makes sense. I thought I would find joining virtually difficult but it has actually been really good as the team have made virtual socials and even just daily chats about things outside of work so has been good to get to know everyone although we havent met in person!
That makes sense - that's also what attracted me to tech consulting!
Do you get to choose which area with tech consulting to specialise in right off the bat if you are more interested in say, data analytics than app development?
They are different programmes so just have a look at what one feels suits your skillset however there is secondments as you go and can specialise even further down the line
ITRA falls under consulting but there are also tech under Assurance so be sure to check both out
There is also cyber included in that too but the website is your best bet there!
