Depends on the pillar that is most interest to you...we do Data-Science, Strategy and Engineering. An exposure to one of the two main data scripting languages (R or Python), appreciation of techniques for analysing data (knowledge of basic statistics, data-viz), and an aptitude to solve problems through data is highly desirable

Definitely, but not a prerequisite.
I have interviewed candidates at a PhD level (in a quantitative discipline) that did not make the cut.
