Personally I knew that I didn't want to go to university for a while so had been looking at apprenticeships for a fair bit. The big things for me that swayed it were the financial benefits, and being paid for the duration of my apprenticeship, the experience that I would gain over going to university, and being ACA qualified at 22 rather than 25 if I was to go to university.
For me personally I didn't see the appeal in University and just wanted to go straight into a job where I could learn and work at the same time. I liked that I could study the professional qualification from the get go as well
So for me, I knew I wanted to be an auditor. I simply knew if I could get on this scheme it would mean I could get into the work I wanted to do much sooner, and not have to deal with the cost after. The thing people mention to me when asking if I miss uni is the social aspect, but I really don't feel like i've missed out on this as I have met so many friends in my cohort and on my engagement.
