Hey there! I work in People Consulting, so don't have exact insight into Tech Consulting, but we're pretty similar :)
The amount of travel really depends on your engagement - Which I know isn't a helpful answer! I personally do not have to travel much for my engagement, and the travel is only from London to Milton Keynes every 6 weeks or so.
However, some engagements are more intense on travel - Especially public sector - With 4 days on client site and 1 day at home. So completely depends on your engagement.
Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi Dillon, thanks for your reply! Alright at least I have a rough picture about it. I have just post another question about the schedule/procedure to get the qualification "Chartered Management Consultant accreditation". Is it also for People Consulting? Do you also have any idea about this?
Hey there :) No probs - Yeah I saw your question and I'm not sure... Within People Consulting we do the CIPD instead of this qualification.
From a CIPD standpoint, we have lectures/seminars every few weeks, and the assessment is essay-based and quite simple (compared to stuff at degree level). From a general standpoint - The consulting business is now introducing 'learning days' which are days dedicated to furthering your learning/skills. We have 5 allocated to us for each year I think... So many use these days to complete work related to their qualifications.
The Consulting business will do their best to accommodate your learning needs - And you should be able to complete your qualification within work hours (so hopefully no working on qualifications outside of work hours!)
And you can have discussions with your counsellor, buddy and engagement manager to understand how best to use your time to get the qualification done!
Hope this helps :)
Thanks again Dillon, your answers helps a lot! :)
