When will we find out if we will be doing ICAS or ACA for assurance graduates?
I am currently training with ICAEW. The ACA is split into 3 levels: certificate, professional and advanced with 15 exams in total. It depends which department you are in but usually you will complete certificate level within the first 6 months. Then you are assigned into college and exams for the professional and advanced level from there, which are spread pretty evenly. You will be given a lot of guidance on this when you join :)
What if we get a lot of exemptions due to our degree? how will the 3 years then be structured?
In my experience, I had an exemption from one exam. Your structure will still be the same, however you will just miss the exams you are exempt from.
In my situation I have completed all certificate and most of professional exams- I only have 3 professional exam and the whole of advanced level left, how will my years be structured then?
You will still need to go to college for the learning you just won't need to take the exams.
So I will still need to go college to study for the modules I have already been exempted for?
Can I ask when the exam take place?
Is there a limit on exemptions we can apply for
Hi Jason. If you think you qualify for an exemption please request one. In most cases you will be automatically given the exemption if you do indeed qualify so no, you won't need to study such modules
Hi Quynh. It will depend on your qualification you are doing but exam times will be on the exam timetable
Hi Fatima. I don't know of any limits to exemptions so, apply away! :)
