Hi there, thank you for your question.

In the UK and Ireland, Assurance has a profound impact on the capital markets, economies and communities we serve. We help organisations provide accurate and current information to stakeholders about the efficiency and effectiveness of their policies and operations, and the status of their compliance with the statutory obligations. For graduates, it’s a unique opportunity to work on high-quality projects in External Audit, Risk Assurance, and Forensic Services.

Within Internal Audit and Controls (IAC), we primarily provide internal audit services and internal control solutions to our clients. We provide assurance to client management and/or the Board that controls are working (or let them know if they are not working). If the latter, we provide ideas to rectify the problems.
As IAC is part of our wider Risk team, you will also be working on other Risk projects. This could include building risk management frameworks for our clients, performing client contract reviews to identify cost savings, or helping our clients implement appropriate technology to manage their control environment.

Please do take a look at our website for further insight and information about the two areas: ukcareers.ey.com/graduates/our-programmes/graduate-programmes/assurance-gp

It's also good to know that with any of our graduate programmes, you can transfer any degree with our programmes. To find out more about where your degree can take you and how you can transfer your skills, have a look at our people's stories: http://ukcareers.ey.com/graduates/our-programmes/transfer-your-skills

I hope this all helps and good luck!
