The role of an auditor varies within the different periods, as the statement of accounts are provided at a certain month each year, depending on the entity. This also varies between sectors, but auditors generally test the different financial information provided in the statement of accounts to ensure they provide a fair and true representation of the company. This includes gathering evidence of transactions from the client and working a lot with excel!

Honestly, you should just be yourself through out the application process. And reflect on your experiences and what you have learnt from that.

Would you say that doing the EY discovery events would be significant and beneficial to apply for and attend?

Hi Mohammed, the Discover EY event is a great way to learn more about the different programmes and the culture at EY! It also provides an opportunity for you to convert onto another programme afterwards :)

Are there any opportunities for yr 11 students? Also by doing such events would this fast track you to a degree-apprenticeship?

  • Anonymous

The Career Starters programme is open for Year 11 students! If you complete the Career Starters programme in Year 12 you are able to fast track your application for an apprenticeship the following year :)

I applied for the careers starters this year but was rejected, any tips or advice?

The best thing you can do is practice the online assessments! So when you are invited to complete the assessment you will have access to a practice platform called 'preparation plus' - this is the best way to help your application!

What grades do you require from GCSE/A Levels to go onto the apprenticeship?

  • Anonymous

Have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels or five Highers (or equivalent) in any subjects, to be eligible to apply

What grade do the 3 a-levels have to be at? Also would this live chat be viable to put onto a CV to indicate ive essentially attended small online events?

  • Anonymous

We look to round about 112 UCAS points :)

Unfortunately, we don't accept CV's. You can talk about the events you have attended during an interview if you are successful in getting to this stage :)

What if you put your predicted grades as A*A*A* but fall slightly below, is 112 UCAS points still the minimum?

  • Anonymous

If this does happen we will discuss at the time. If you try your very best in your exams!:)

  • Anonymous

It is really important to ensure you are submitting accurate predicted grades when you complete you application too :)

For example, if you get A*AB but predicted grades were A*A*A*?

We review each case on a case by case basis. If you ensure you are submitting your accurate predicted grades, try your very best in your exams and you have round about 112 UCAS points :)
