There's not many roles where you can get exposure working face-to-face with clients, as you can working in Expat tax specifically (i.e. my team!) - something I have really valued and makes you feel like a trusted & valued member of the team! Especially where you get to work with reputable names
Are the tax teams we work in assigned to us or do we get to choose after a while in the role?
You can totally have a say after being exposed to engagements after a while in the role. This would be seen as playing to your strengths, and building relationships with the client. Client retention is a super important part of our role, In terms of the broad branches of tax, are you familiar with UKI / FS? This is broadly how EY are split
Yes I am familiar, I have the final round interview soon, I couldnt have it on the EYX day due to lack of available partners, Would I be expected to chose UKI vs FS or would it be fine to say I dont mind?
It depends which clientelle you would prefer, I suppose! FS is specifically financial services clients
As for the qualification, does everyone do the ACA for tax or is it the CTA, the description doesnt make it quite clear
I can only really speak from my knowledge. I am part of the Expat tax team, and ATT is required. Which team do you plan to join?
I applied for the graduate tax programme, Id like to join FS.
Okay great - it depends which subservice line you apply for/are allocated to. I would ask this as you progress during the application process
