Hi Alice
Thank you very much for your question.
The thing that surprised me most about my role is how much responsibility you are able to take on at junior grades. If you work hard and make your team know that you are wanting to be stretched and challenged, they will really make sure that this happens. This was particularly important for me, as having decided to do an apprenticeship over going to university, I wanted to make sure I was in an equally, if not more, rewarding environment.
I also did not expect to make so many great friends as part of my apprenticeship. I was always worried that if I didn't go to university I would miss out on the 'university experience', however at EY I have made some life-long friends and have never once regretted my decision!
I hope this helps, but please do let me know if you have any further questions!
