Hi, I'd say for most graduates in consulting no day is the exact same. This is because the client we work on changes quite frequently and the services we provide might also change.
For me, my day (pre-covid) started with travelling to the office or a client site. I'd then check any emails that came in overnight. I'd then usually have a call or meeting with my team to plan our day. During the day it would be completing tasks, writing up documentation and communicating with clients and the team.
We're quite a social place so most Fridays would be after-work drinks or dinner.
Thank you Sam. Are most days of the year spent in clients' offices? If yes, are you a part of a stable EY team moving from client to client each time you finish with a client and move to another? Or do you collaborate with different EY team members everytime you are assigned a different client?
In consultancy, largely most fo your days will be spent in a clients office. You EY client team will change on each project usually. This means you get to work with a nice variety of people in the wider consulting team.
Amazing! It must be very exciting to collaborate with different people when each time you are assigned to a new client. EY has been focusing on delivering tech solutions for a while now; I assume that under COVID-19 clients seek for more and more help from technology. How important is it for a consulting professional to learn coding? Would you say that this is a skill that EY looks for when assesing candidates?
Hi Eirini, any technical skills which are needed will be developed /taught whilst working on the job.
Good to know! Thank you Sidd and Sam!
What sort of laptops technology graduates given ? And can you use your personal laptop?
All EY employees are given a laptop which is refreshed roughly ever four years. In the current cycle we have HP EliteBooks. You can't use you your personal laptop at any time due to privacy concerns with the client data we handle.
Thank you.. would happen to know in which office cyber security FSO graduates are located in London ? London Bridge Or Canary Wharf
Regards
FSO Graduates would be based in Canary Wharf, but could also be on client site
Hey Eirini, apologies for the delay in response, I've seen both Sam and Sid have reached out to you, but if you have any further questions, feel free to reach out. I'll make sure to get back to you more promptly.
All the best!
