Progression is quite structured for the first few years - focus on your exams, make sure you pass those. Additionally I would focus on doing the basics brilliantly, show interest in all that you do, ask questions, get feedback and act on it. Feedback is super important - there is so much to learn. You can choose to push yourself to the extent you want to.
