I would say there is a few areas that I have come across from my apprenticeship - these being:
1) Strong Analytical and Technical Skills are really helpful, we do a lot of number crunching and analysis on financial statements and data. So spotting those patterns really helps!
2) Communication Skills - being able to communicate when you have too many tasks or able to contribute and listen effectively and respond with targeted advice is also very key and missing for a lot of individuals.
3) Last Teamwork and Collaboration, we work in teams all the time so team working skills are absolutely crucial! :)

Thank you, Akshat, just to follow up on that question, what would you say are traits/ practices that can be a detriment to apprentices?
That is a tricky one - but as someone who has been coaching audit apprentices on a audit recently - I think what makes it tricky for me is if the apprentice doesn't feel confident to ask questions or feel like the question they ask is not "smart enough". I would always encourage apprentices to ask the question as it probably is a question that someone is thinking as well so you could always be helping someone else in the room. So having the confidence and being professional sceptical is key in my opinion.
