Great question! I'm currently working towards the next promotion to Manager, from which I'd like to get more heavily involved in the People side of our department. From there I'd like to consolidate my knowledge and then will look to Senior Manager in a few years time. I have and am considering a secondment abroad as these are starting to return, although I'm also just about to buy an apartment so I think that's a future goal!
Thank you for your response! What do you mean by getting more involved with the people side of your department? What would that entail?
Sorry I should have explained that without the EY Lingo! In our department we have a few different pillars, one of which is People. This is things like onboarding of new joiners, feedback/coaching initiatives, understanding and trying to resolve issues in the department. Anything relating to People, but of course not things that HR should and do cover.
That’s very interesting, I love working with people which is why I was particularly interested in what ‘People’ was! Thanks for all of your responses!
If you do join, you can get involved as a grad too in various initiatives. Teams are always looking for more help, especially those coming in fresh with new ideas and experiences.
