Hi Yeuk, the short answer would be yes, to an extent, an ACA qualification is considered very prestigious and could be used to apply for banking/tax roles, whether that be internally within EY or externally.
Are you allowed to transition for one service line to another? Eg tax to auditing or more finance and banking related role at EY on the apprenticeship scheme or is it fixed in stone?
As a qualified EY staff, you can certainly move sub-service lines. For example, my manager in tax used to be in Audit until 3 years ago. As an apprentice, you are fixed to your sub-service line for the course of your apprenticeship.
If you decide you like one service line more during the apprenticeship, are you allowed to interview to switch service lines?
What do most people working in the tax service normally do after finishing their ACA qualifications at EY?
Hi Yeuk, regarding switching teams - it is really not something that is done during the apprenticeship programme. You are enrolled into a degree or professional qualification so generally you would finish the programme in the same team and office that you apply to. Once qualified, our Tax apprentices generally stay on and continue working in their team as a qualified professional, and continue to progress in the business :)
