specifically with the digital and emerging tech path. And also could I know an interesting project as an example? So I could get more details about what kinda tasks I may go through after joining the company. Many thanks
Hi there!
I completed my industrial placement within technology consulting, 5 key skills that helped me were
- Communication
- Creative Thinking
- Problem Solving
- Leadership
- Organizational and Time Management
One of my key projects, I was on, was working on a blockchain based marine insurance platform! I worked on the Project Management side and got to oversee the entire project.
In terms of day-to-day activities, no day is the same!
Okay wonderful!! So they don’t specifically need strong tech background, but more like the soft skills.
No, when i joined i didn't need any prior technical skills, you'll learn everything on the job
Got it, and thanks very much, the example you gave sounds really interesting!
No worries! Any other questions, please let me know :)
To expand on this question, I am currently applying for cyber risk within the technology programme, with a 1st class degree in criminology. I am worried that my passion for technology and extra curriculum will not be enough. Do you have any tips?
No worries at all, EY recruit from all different backgrounds and degrees. You will have no disadvantage compared to someone with a Technology based degree.
As a tip, just show off your skills and passion for the role in all parts of the recruitment process!
Hello Zohaib , While reading this thread to enhance my knowledge about the role I applied for in EY I read that you completed the industrial placement within technology consulting. This is the exact role I have also applied for and I'm currently in the third stage!
If you're open to conversing I'd love to have a enlightening conversation about your career!
