In my opinion, the 3 top qualities required to succeed in my role would be:
Willingness to learn - tax legislation is always changing so it's key to stay up to date on the new tax rules.
Problem solving - some of our clients' issues can be very complex, so it's great if you like solving problems by considering various different solutions.
Enjoying a client-facing role - due to the nature of our client asks, you will be conversing with clients on a regular basis. If you enjoy speaking to new people and building relationships, this will help you succeed very well in the tax role.
