What are extra activities you'd suggest outside of academia you can do that shows a passion for assurance?

Hi, you too !:) I'm currently in my third year studying Economics at Queen Mary

Hey Tayybah, I'll take your question. So I don't think you would need to do anything in particular that shows you're passion for assurance in particular. But I would recommend trying to look into or do anything that would help improve the skills needed for assurance. EY looks more for what motivates you and what drives you.

Hello Sara :) Thankyou for answering my question. In that case is there anything else that can be done that makes your application stand out drawing from your own experience in applying?

No worries! When I was applying, in my interview stage I really tried to emphasis why I wanted to do assurance and more importantly my passion for wanting to work for EY. It really does help when you express how you would fit into EY and how the EY values fit into your own this shows that you've done your research on the company and that you're eager.

Thankyou!! If I manage to get to the interview stage I will definitely keep that in mind :'D Right now it's the online assessments for me. I was wondering if how long you take to do them affects the outcome too and how difficult you found yours?

HI Sara - for our Online tests it takes about one hour to complete the Assessment Portal, and then you'll complete a Numerical reasoning test which takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. This is important as your score is measured both on speed and accuracy - you can find out more about our application process on ey.com/uk/apply - if you go to our student page you can also view our application process video giving you some hints and tips about each stage - https://www.ey.com/en_uk/careers/students/programmes/graduates

The tests aren't time but the reasoning behind asking about the time it takes is because I'm dyslexic and am afraid if that's taken into consideration it could affect my result

Hi Taybah - there is an opportunity on your application form to disclose if you require any adjustments during the application process. We can absolutely provide accommodations where needed! Before you actually write the NRT, you will need to flag this with our team if you require any adjustments such as extra time, and we can apply this for you no problem.

Just to touch on how hard the tests are. Honestly practice makes perfect, the more mock tests you do the easier you will find the EY test. So I would really recommend doing as many as you can online, It did help me a lot I was more prepared.
