Technology opportunities in PAS

I'll be joining the PAS graduate scheme and was wondering if it's possible to get involved in "technology-intensive" projects there as well? I've been working as a student data analyst at uni and learned Qlik, Tableau, Alteryx and PowerBI there which I found quite interesting so was wondering if PAS uses any of those softwares?

It depends on client work as well as team development - if you contract to work on a PAS project that needs these technologies for the client then the answer is 'yes'

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if there are sub teams within PAS that are more likely to get these kinds of projects than others?

Hi Dimitrios, I was wondering how long PAS consultants usually get to learn these new skills prior to starting the task with the client? Or is it more common that consultants with the existing skills suitable for this project will be chosen for this client?

We have a very comprehensive set of learning maps and a Technology Learning Platform that anyone can use for personal development. How that training will shape for each individual depends on personal circumstances (aptitude to learn, time-committed), an agreed personal-development-plan with his/her Counsellor, and requirements of specific client roles.

Obviously if you have specific skills matched to specific client needs you will be matched by the resourcing team

Thanks for your response! That sounds excellent, is the Technology Learning Platform something we can access prior to joining so that we can begin our personal development as soon as possible?

Not accessible - you need an EY laptop and network credentials to access the Intranet

So Dimitrios would your advice be to just talk to your counsellor and ask if they could recommend you in case a suitable project comes up?

It's more dynamic than that - the counsellor is there to coach your development. There is the resourcing dept to point to opportunities, and you will also have your line manager within your team, and your engagement manager at a given client account. It's an interplay with all these few people
