    Hi,

I am wondering how easy you find it to work from home, especially at the beginning of the job. Is it more difficult to learn / pick-up stuff from home?

How many days is expected to be present in the office? Is this different at the beginning of employment?

    Thanks for answering!

Hey Jack, it depends on the office but typically we aim to be in twice a week. I would recommend going in every day at the beginning of the job as it is a way to get to know everyone and it is easier to learn from others. I wouldn't say it is more difficult to pick up stuff from home but it definitely takes a bit longer sometimes.
Happy to answer any more questions.

    Thanks for your helpful response!

At the beginning of the job - how much time do we spend studying / in college? I am wondering how it is split and what to expect.

Are you also in the tax team?

Yes, I am in the tax team. Are you a graduate or a business apprentice?

    Graduate

As soon as you start there are two days of introduction and then you go straight to college. You are in college for roughly two and a half months and then you have exams. Usually you will start in the office around the end of November.

I see. How spaced out are the exams? I understand I will be doing Enrolled Agent and ATT, are there any other professional exams to be completed after these?

    Thanks again

I am not too sure as I am doing ICAS but overall, you get a lot of support while you are in college and I did not find it too overwhelming. You are usually expected to study for a few hours outside of working hours as well.

Ok thanks! Is there some way I can find out the dates of my exams in 2024? (Before 5th September)

You should get your timetable from the professional qualifications team but it will be closer to your start date.

Will there be any more sessions like this between now and my enrollment date?

Yes, there are more online session and another Q&A session which will be during the summer and it will most likely be in person.
