is working in tax boring and repetitive and dull, where you have to sit in an office all day?

Hi, and thanks for your question.

The short answer to your question is no - Tax is not boring. There are so many areas of tax to be involved in and market sectors to be part of. Tax is everywhere - no matter what your interests are, tax will surely follow.

You can be in the Corporate tax team working on large mergers between global giants. Working in Indirect Tax with VAT and helping businesses stay compliant.

I personally work in Global Mobility helping expatriates navigate the international landscape of tax rules and assisting them with their tax affairs. We work with FTSE 10 companies, charities and more. There really is something for everyone in Tax.

Interested in sustainability? Why not consider our Corporate Tax team who work with energy-based clients in offshore and onshore windfarms?

Interested in making a massive difference to someone who is looking to move to the other side of the world with their families for work? Why not join our Global Mobility Tax team?

And yes - we do most of this from the office, but EY has a hybrid approach to work days - some at home, some at the office. We also take plenty of coffee breaks and play table tennis at the office too!

    But definitely not boring!
