I did A level maths and economics and did geography and archaeology as my university degree
Whilst the quantitative aspects might just help you think around problems it certainly isn't a requirement
I did A level maths and I haven't found it particularly relevant to my career to date. It definitely helps to be strong at maths but definitely isn't essential. especially with how complicated A level maths is.
So is A level economics more relavant to this than maths?
Hi Sanit. I've done both but to be honest I think neither are essential for a role in tax. However, if you had to pick one I would say economics as tax ties into the wider business world and the economy. Whereas the maths required is majority of the content covered at GCSE e.g. proportions, percentages, etc.
