I am awaiting to hear a response back from EY regarding Stage 3 of the Assurance Grad Scheme application process. I have heard from current EY employees there are some opportunities to work abroad during the grad scheme but that this depends on your clients - is this correct? Are there any other ways of working abroad during the grad scheme or is this most likely once the scheme is finished?
Hello
Hi Vincent
There is definitely opportunity to work abroad, I know one of my managers who have gone to the USA. There are also a lot of people joining the london office who are from different EY offices
I see. I have heard you need to be proactive about this and network to the relevant EY employees who could help you with this. Is this right?
Yes, in the work environment you are responsible for your own career. So if there is something you want you can talk to your counselor and they will leverage the EY global network to make it happen
Okay perfect. And I study two languages in my degree and have lived abroad the past year in EU and SA - would this be an advantage to me when seeking abroad opportunities? So do we have a mentor/counselor during the Grad Scheme?
Yes everyone is assigned a counselor and mentors you can pick up when you're here, so if there is someone you get along with people are always happy to talk. Also the SA offices are really nice so great place to work
Oh that's great as it's easy to get lost in a large corporation! Thanks for answering my questions Vincent!
