Hi there,
Many thanks for your question - very thought-provoking!
I have hired many talented students into a range of our incredible programmes, but if I was to specify some characteristics that stood out to me, they would be:
- Authenticity: Candidates being their authentic selves in the process as we're hiring you as an individual, so it's great to see your passions, goals, interests etc. Diverse thought and talent are what we strive for as a firm.
- Dedication: We look to hire individuals who are committed to the work they do and who take full accountability for their assigned tasks which allows them to naturally showcase why EY is a good fit for them.
- Curiosity: I enjoy recruiting students who aren't afraid to ask questions as this communicates their proactive nature and desire to further their understanding - whether that be on recent technological developments, EY's culture or putting the questions back to the recruiters/interviewers. Curiosity displays interest, and interest leads to strong motivation.
I hope this helps and good luck if you submit an application for our 2024 programmes!
