Hi Luxian, it depends on your location and business unit however this is not something that can be altered. The two qualifications are equal in terms of difficulty and respect in the work place
Hi Matthew, Thank you for your reply! I will be based on England, but I was told to go with ICAS Route. Can you please help to advice if I can apply to go with ICAEW? Thanks you!
The exam qualification is chosen by the firm based on your business unit, and this is not something that can be changed.
Thank you Matthew. If my understanding is correct, UK&I will go with ICAS and FSO will go with ICAEW? Thanks.
Hi Luxian, no - this isn't the case. As Matthew mentioned, both ICAS and ICAEW are of equal measure, and you work towards the same qualification to become a chartered accountant. Both boards are highly respected, and are ultimately seen in the same light, so this isn't anything to be concerned about.
Thank you Mollie! That's very helpful. : )
