Thankyou for your response, i would like to know as a first year student, who is interested in joining EY after gradution, what steps can be taken now to have much better edge than other candidates.

Hi Graeme, Thank you for the link. Pleas can you advise me how to apply for the Spring 2 day insight programme? Is there a direct link or do we apply direct to the local offices?

Hi Lewis, head over to this link: https://www.ey.com/en_uk/careers/students/programmes/undergraduates/discover-ey. You can read more about our three Discover EY programmes, click apply now for your preferred option. You'll then be taken to a page to see the locations available and you can select which one you want to apply to.

I equally have the same question as Rajveer, 'i would like to know as a first year student, who is interested in joining EY after gradution, what steps can be taken now to have much better edge than other candidates.'

I would recommend doing things at university that you can talk about in interviews other than your studies, so you can show-off your skillset using your experiences. For example, at uni I started a vegetarian and vegan society and ran it with some friends - using this as an example I was able to show I had leadership, communication and teamworking skills. I think generally, to be successful in the application process, you need to understand what type of student EY is looking for. To do this I would recommend attending EY events like these, and asking questions - as you are doing right now which is a great start! Other than this I would do a deep-dive research into the EY website which has a wealth of information on the company's core values and initiatives.
In the application process they care most about you wanting to work for EY in particular, so try and do research into what makes EY unique and have a good case for why you want to work here in particular! Please let me know if you have any further questions!
