I very recently graduated with a third class in biomedical science undergraduate at NTU. I had extenuating circumstances that seriously affected my results and as a result I was 0.1 of a 2:2 . My family’s house went on fire early during the year that lead to my family moving to many hostels and my mum’s health got worse as she has asthma and she’s a single mom . And because of this I had to travel to London and provide support to my mum and my 2 younger sisters . This lead me having barley anytime to study . So I’m now looking for a role at your firm for an opportunity as my final degree results doesn’t really reflect me as a student . I’m a very ambitious, self driven and I like embracing new challenges.
Hi there,
Many thanks for your question and for relaying your personal circumstances - I am sorry to hear of the challenging year you have had.
At EY, we adopt a flexible hiring approach, meaning we welcome applications from any discipline, including all the sciences. This allows us to capture a wider talent pool and provide exceptional opportunities to more students across the UK.
However, we wouldn't be able to advise on the most suitable service line as your motivational alignment to your chosen business area is a strength that we assess you on and so we would like to see careful consideration and extensive research. As a result, I would recommend that you have a thorough read of our website: ey.com/uk/students as this will give you a great insight into each area; detailing what the role would entail and where a career in that path can take you.
I hope this helps!
