You are able to own stocks and shares, however we must be careful with our independence in respect of these. For example, you or your immediate family/friends cannot own shares in a company that you audit. Good question! When you complete your independence form when you join, it will ask you about your investments, and I believe it should have a link to the compliance team who would be able to help you with this, but it may be a good idea to ask your fund manager to provide a breakdown of those companies in advance.
