I am a student studying Shipping, Trade and Finance. I am very interested in shipping and trading and want to pursue long-term development in this area. I have noticed that EY is a member of Maritime London and has cooperation with many actors in the shipping industry. I want to know which department or programme in EY can I apply?
Hi Xingyan, you can consider the Graduate Programme in UK&I Assurance and specify that in your application that you are interested in working on Marine or Shipping clients.
Okay. Thanks for your information.
If I am lucky enough to join the Graduate Programme in Assurance, I want to know what is the biggest challenge I will face every day?
I think the biggest challenge will be the variety so you won't just be doing shipping clients so the key is to be open minded and flexible
That sounds very exciting. What quality do you value most about your candidates?
Hi Xingyan, the values we look for in our current employees and those looking to join us are:
Integrity, Respect and Teaming
Energy enthusiasm and the courage to lead
Relationships built on doing the right thing
You can also see the strengths we look for here: https://www.ey.com/en_uk/careers/students/application-tips
And I also want to know that what is the exact difference between the Assurance Programme and Extended Assurance Programme? Are there any different background requirements between these two programmes?
Hi Rebecca, many thanks for your reply.
Hey, I would say the biggest difference is that the EA team is based in our Financial Services Office, and the qualification you'll be studying towards is different.
Thanks so much for your reply. :)
