Excel*
Hi Manraj
For the tax team as an apprentice there is no requirement for you to know any technologies, however it is useful to know basics of excel
If you are interested in more technologies, once you join you can ask about working on tax technology projects and on those you will pick up skills as required
Again, no tech skills are required for tax but if you are interested it is always useful to learn coding (SQL, Python)
Thanks you Nidhi
So with joining the tax team are there any things you would recommend to make my start smoother
Into the company
As in preparations I should do
Hi Manraj, from what I have gathered from one of my questions regarding something similar, getting used to / understand Excel will be beneficial to give yourself an advantageous start at EY. I am also joining EY this September as an apprentice in the Manchester office. Where are you based?
That's brilliant to hear. I'm going to be based in the London office
Hi both, joining as apprentices in Tax i don't think you should worry too much about pre-learning, youl will be doing a lot of training and learning especially as part of the qualification
All ms products are useful (excel, power point etc.)
Thank you Nidhi and good luck Manraj!
And if you are very interested in technology then data visualization and coding is always a code skill to have :)
Oh okay that's great to here. Good luck to you to James!
Perfect! Thank you both :)
Hear*
Nidhi what future technology in tax would you say you are most excited about
I think we are doing a lot of work on AI and ML which is quite innovative for Tax!
Wow! That's great to hear. Hopefully will join EY in September if all goes well , so excited!
