Also, where will I do my studying for my professional qualification and my Accounting & Taxation Apprenticeship?
So I think you will be on a level 7 apprenticeship. For this there is no studying, but there are certain criteria you have to meet. The studying will be for the accounting exams which start very soon after you join. You get college time at a local tuition provider such as Kaplan or First Intuition and then have time to sit the exam
Thank you - what sort of criteria would I have to meet? How much college time would I get? Are the accounting exams the CA+CTA exams or are they in addition to those exams?
Could you clarify which program you are joining EY on?
I will be an assistant tax advisor uner UK+I tax

I have been sent an email saying ". As you may be aware, we have embedded a government accredited master’s degree equivalent (Level 7) Accounting & Taxation Apprenticeship into our Graduate Programme and this accreditation will be in addition to the professional qualification you are due to complete. "
Do you know which qualification you will be studying towards? For example ACA, ACCA or CIMA?
It is a joint CA CTA qualification
Hi Matthew - for the level 7 apprenticeship you will not have to do any studying, only different trainings which you are given time off work to do :)
Thank you, sorry for writing this in two threads simultaneously
No problem at all!
Hi Matthew, I'm Jess (a business apprentice within the tax service line). As part of the L7 apprenticeship, your employment contract includes support to study towards gaining your chartered accountancy qualification. If yours is a combined CA/CTA qualification, I'd assume it would be similar to what some grads I know do- you can sit a number of CTA modules in substitution of a few of the accounting modules under ACA. Hope this helps!
Thank you
As I would be entering a specific service line, would the modules be chosen for me or would I choose the modules that I would be studying for?
Hi Matthew, great name! The CA/CTA qualification is a standard qualification and you'll do the same modules as anyone else sitting the qualification
I see, thank you, from the perspectus it seemed that there would be a number of modules that would not be compulsory - https://assets-eu-01.kc-usercontent.com/220a4c02-94bf-019b-9bac-51cdc7bf0d99/b0839d04-a304-47ee-980b-66e9a1399bfb/CA%20CTA%20Joint%20Programme%20Prospectus%202022.pdf
(pg 4)
For CTA you do get to chose which exams you do. This is slightly different to just doing CA or ACA. You can pick which CTA modules you would like to do
Ok, thank you
