Hi Chun! From my understanding, there are no specific materials provided for the group discussion. During the group task, you will be provided information about a fictional client, and it will be your job to analyse the information and answer any questions as a team.
When I did my experience day, we were provided materials and the case study that formed part of the written and numerical assessment. We received these a couple of days before the assessment day. These materials were definitely relevant in understanding the fictional client, so I'd say make sure to study them before you go!
So is there no preparation material for me to prepare or research on prior to the group exercise?
There was very little you could do to prepare other than read through the materials you'll eventually be given in my case
I'm just double checking with a colleague now to clarify
Chun, can you confirm if your EYX is in-person?
I called EY student recruitment hotline a few days ago and they said i will be provided any relevant material one to two days prior to the assessment centre. But I have constantly checked on my inbox and account area but I cannot find any material regarding that
Yes, it is in person scheduled for tomorrow in London Churchill Place
Understood. I believe the materials are sent prior to the EYX for some of our virtual days
However for the in-person EYX, it appears no materials will be provided before the event.
If you go on to the website https://eyx.preparationplus.com/?graduate=true, then you should get similar material, I think.
From my own experience observing the group exercise, no preparation is required, and you will be given time to review all materials as part of the exercise
Understood. So just to confirm I won‘t be provided any material regarding the group exercise or individual exercises prior to my in-person assessment centre, and I‘ll need to analyse and discuss the materials tomorrow?

When I had mine I was given materials on tuesday and the EYX was on Friday.
Hi chun, I am also at the experience day tomorrow. I received an email detailing the timings of the day for activity 1,2,3 etc and then a link to a portal which contained info on the group task. However, it doesn't look like anything you need to prepare for beforehand really. I wouldn't worry about it, they'll give details in the session I believe
and it was in person for tax
User7564, same with me.
It's worth clarifying that the above sounds like a virtual EYX
Mines definitely in person & I've received the resources, I've booked travel through EY and been given the location via emails. I would imagine Chun is in the same boat as me but hasn't received anything to access resources?
My emails mentioned an EY Experience day hub to prepare and when I clicked that link that's where I found the resources Chun. Maybe just worth a double check you definitely haven't received a link like that in any emails in the past few days?
Ah I understand. Are you referring to your application portal?
It seems kind of separate to me, it was a link to an 'EY Experience day hub'- I had to set up a separate account& password to it so assume they're wanting to keep it separate from main application hub
I see! This must be a new approach for the Tax assessment
Chun, let me know if you manage to find the resource that has been discussed
