Hi Zayn
Thank you very much for your question and that is great to hear that you enjoy the accounting / tax side.
Before I started the apprenticeship, I always had a passion for mathematics and numbers, but also finance. I did also know that if I wasn't going to go to university, I wanted to do a programme that would stretch and challenge me, but also provide me with a professional qualification.
When I heard about the EY apprenticeship, I thought it would be a great opportunity to achieve exactly what I was looking for - the ability to work at one of the largest professional service firms in the world, whilst gain the ACA.
I didn't actually start EY in our tax practice, but a different area of the business. However, two years in I found that I had a strong interest in International Tax, due to its complexities, but also mathematical basis. I moved over to the International Tax team two years ago, in which I finished my ACA to become Chartered and am very pleased I made the decision I did to do this path.
I hope this helps, but do let me know if you have any other questions!
