Hi Ashnee! It is completely up to you where you decide to live but EY does have the expectation that employees should be able to come into the office whenever necessary (also depending on your team's expectations). I know some people who live quite far away from the office (e.g. Tunbridge) but still come into the office 3-4 days a week, while others live very close. I live walking distance from the office and I've found that's made it easier to take part in team socials (not having to return home early to catch a train)
Thank you! That's useful to know.
Hi Ashnee, I live quite far away - around a 1.5h commute. As I only go once or twice a week to the office, I have found it manageable so far. However, saying that, it would definitely be convenient to live close by for socials and extracurriculars, such as EY sports teams.
Hi Kate! Thanks for your response. Is the 1-2 days you go into office because of your team requirement? Or is it your choice?
Hi Ashnee. Kate might still get back to you but there is usually no fixed requirement, it's usually up to you. Your team changes with each project so just remain flexible and try to find out what your specific team is expecting from you.
I would recommend to try to come in as much as possible (2-3 days) towards the beginning of the Program so you can get to know your team well
Great thank you!
Hi, we are encouraged to come in as much as we can or at least on our department anchor day.
My department hosts quite a couple of in-person events on anchor days so I always find it useful to go.
Thanks Kate!
