Hi, I have just graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but I am looking to get into a career in Accountancy as a Trainee Accountant, so what advice can you give me with regards to getting a position that you have no previous experience in?
Hi Ho Ching, an accountancy degree is not required when applying for a graduate role. The application process is strength based rather than based on ones knowledge on accountancy or finance.
Ok, so if the application process asks me about strengths I have that would be suitable for the role, can I give examples of anything I have done during both my degree and extra-curricular activities that shows the characteristics EY are looking for in a candidate?
Hi Ho Ching, yes, absolutely, EY would consider both degree and extra-curricular activities!
Thanks Clementine!
Thank you Joel as well!
