From your website, I am trying to better get my head around the following requirement of Tech Consulting Gradiates: "We're looking for students that have a passion and interest in technology and/or those that have some experience of: SQL, Python, R, VBA, SPSS or Minitab and experience with databases, data analysis/manipulation and reporting." How much experience does your typical successful graduate have in those areas? I have an extremely high interest in this nature of job, I have lots of experience with data analysis, manipulation and reporting, but for instance I am just learning to use python for data analysis now, and I am doing my best to learn. But at what stage should I really be looking to exceed by the time I am applying in Aug/Sep? And is a broad understanding of each of SQL, Python, R, VBA preferred to a comprehensive understanding of just one? Many thanks. Long question and apologies, but its really important for me.
Hey, I would say the most important thing for this role is that you have a passion for technology and a desire to learn, which you have definitely shown above. From what you have said it seems you already have a lot of technology experience under your belt and are continuing to develop so you would definitely be well equipped in the role! EY would also be open to someone having a breadth of knowledge across a wide range of technologies or more in depth knowledge in 1/2 areas of technology - however you best want to navigate your interests in technology EY will cater and be open to.
Thanks a lot Sabrin :)
