I.e. is there much crossover between the departments or are they both very distinct entities?
Hi Harry, although they are both within the audit service line, they work on different types of clients ie whether they are financial services clients or not. Therefore, there is not usually crossover between the teams as you get allocated clients based on whether you are FS or UK&I
Thanks Ruby - does that mean you would spend the 3 years of the grad scheme at either FS or UK&I with no opportunity to learn about both departments, or is there scope for transfer?
I only ask as I chose my department with minimal knowledge as to the practical distinction between the two! Thanks
Initially yes it would mean you are in one or the other. With regards swapping to the other team, this would depend on the business needs at the time and is something you would have to bring up with your manager
Cheers Ruby
Is that FSO assurance divided into three divisions: banking, insurance, and asset management, how to know which one best suit our interests and skill set? Can we choose voluntarily?
Is there any particular reason that the FSO services prefer ICAS rather than other certificates like ACA?
Hi Alba. There is usually no choice when it comes to which industry you will be assigned but EY will try to use whatever information they have to make the best decision. If you are in a team you really don't like I would recommend having a conversation with your Counsellor, but also it's good to stay open-minded and try new things out.
Thank you, Alba. I like doing either one of those, just curious to know the difference between them and their implications on our work.
